FAQs

You have questions about hardware, software or service?

Wrench or special tool for opening the shaft cover or the lock on the hood. Suitable slotted/cross-head screwdriver for loosening or tightening the two fastening screws of the display unit. Cable tie for neatly routing the sensor and antenna cable. Depending on the type of mounting, suitable stainless steel screws. The RCT transmitters are equipped with magnetic feet for mounting as standard, but can also be screwed on as an alternative. Suitable materials for documentation of the installation (camera, note sheet or digital recording). For online verification of the installation process, a mobile device such as a smartphone with web access is helpful.

Neither special technical know-how nor authorizations are required for the installation of RCT transmitter units in the private sector. In the commercial sector, the installation authorization varies from case to case. The respective requirements for the qualification and certification of the installer should be clarified at the planning stage or when the order is accepted. Since the RCT transmitter units have the function of an additional device that does not interfere with the safety or system technology, there are no special requirements for the installer. The installation and operating instructions that accompany each RCT unit must be followed in all cases. The operating instructions contain a declaration of conformity for the products. If, in addition, the respective test certificates are required, these can be downloaded from the RCT website (Menue "Company/certificates"). Installations that are carried out other than those described in the installation instructions are excluded from the manufacturer's product liability. Any consequential resulting, damage and costs cannot be held responsible or assumed.

In addition to the development of customized solutions, RCT offers a modular building block system that enables the rapid setup and safe operation of a remote monitoring system. At its core, the solution consists of four standard elements: sensors/signal transmitters, transmitter units, receivers and, if necessary, web-based data management. All modules are compatible with each other and can be expanded. The plug-and-play principle enables simple and fast installation. This allows customized monitoring solutions to be implemented cost-effectively. Six steps to commissioning: 1. CHECKING THE NETWORK QUALITY AT THE TANK ON-SITE: Selection of transmission protocol GPRS/4G/NB-IoT. 2. CHECKING THE PRESENT FLOATING TECHNOLOGY IN THE TANK: selection of the sensor or adapter. 3. CONNECTION OF THE SENSOR TO THE TRANSMITTING UNIT. 4. SETTING THE DEVICE PARAMETERS via configuration cable (if not preset): e.g. name of the device, cyclic transmission times of the device (1-999 hours), limits for alarm messages, other alarms such as leakage, filling, malfunction of the electronics. 5. TEST MESSAGE: sending a test message to check the quality (signal strength) of the network. Possibly replace with other antenna (dipole antenna traversable, longer radiator, longer cable with magnetic base antenna). 6. CONNECTING THE BATTERY: Plugging the transmitter unit and battery together.

Competence for Ex applications: The development of all RCT products is based on many years of experience and outstanding engineering know-how for Ex applications. Our products are continuously developed to meet the increasing requirements. The goal is to provide our customers with precisely fitting solutions of the highest possible quality. For this reason, RCT's entire manufacturing processes and quality management have been certified according to DIN ISO 9001 since the beginning of the company. All products carry the recognized CE seal and are tested according to EMC guidelines. The devices for gas tank monitoring meet the high ATEX requirements and are approved for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The ATEX certification of the production is carried out according to the requirements of Annex VII of Directive 2014/34/EU for Equipment and Protective Systems (ATEX) by TÜV and stands for highest product quality "Made in Germany". These certifications give our customers security in terms of design, procurement, management, sales consultations and, last but not least, for the safety and function of the products themselves. Should there nevertheless be a complaint about a delivered product, please contact your dealer directly or RCT as the manufacturer. Justified defects will be eliminated as soon as possible. In accordance with the provisions of German law, we fulfill all warranty claims. Also in this context customer satisfaction is our goal. For this purpose RCT offers almost 7/24 online support by phone or e-mail for business customers.

RCT offers individual product training and assembly training for every customer requirement. There, questions about the products used are answered comprehensively by experts. Another part of the training is to give the participants an overview of all RCT products. An understanding of the RCT modular system helps to combine devices and components correctly. Training courses can be held at RCT's headquarters in Gladenbach, at the customer's site or at the location where the RCT equipment is used. All participants receive written information material on the training courses for later reference of the contents taught. Tutorial videos are also planned and will be made available online. The trainer will also serve as a personal contact person at RCT. The trainer will continue to be available to answer individual questions, for example on the handling of equipment and, if necessary, provide tips on safe use.
